Professional textiles

  • Flat linen: linen for professional uses such as, inter alia, face cloths, sheets (used for beds or tables), pillowcases and rags.
  • Work clothing: clothing which the employer provides for the employee (Code on welfare at work – book IX – title 3). Clothing that is specific to the profession, organisation that requires the wearing of a uniform or standardised work clothing. Unlike protective clothing, work clothing never has CE marking.
  • Protective products containing textiles:
    • Products which are developed to protect people from risk, for example, chemical or biological agents, low visibility, heat, fire, cold, etc. These products fall under specific product legislation such as, for example, Regulation (EU) 2016/425 on PPE and/or Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices.
    • Products which are used by law enforcement authorities and armed forces are not covered by specific legislation but are regarded as protective products containing textiles in the context of Circletex.
